We have an unboxing of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 for you after it arrived at our headquarters. It includes a case for the back glass panel, a USB-C to 3.5mm dongle, a 67W charger, a cable, and an adjustable kickstand.
One of the thinnest foldables available is the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2. When folded, it is 11.2mm long and 5.4mm wide. The Xiaomi phone feels extremely small when compared to the Galaxy Z Fold4's 6.3mm/15.8mm thickness.
In comparison to the Galaxy Z Fold4, there are many things to say about the Mix Fold 2. The Galaxy Z Fold4's revised, but still excessively long 23:9 cover screen is far worse than the Xiaomi foldable's conventional-feeling outside display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. As a result, using the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 closed is virtually as natural as using any slab phone. In addition, the outer screen is larger than the Fold4's 6.2-inch screen at 6.56 inches.
When the two are unfolded, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 clearly has a larger screen. Its inner display measures 8.02 inches, or 206 cm2 in total, but the folding display of the Galaxy Z Fold4 is 7.6 inches, or 183.2 cm2.
If you prefer large displays, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 clearly outsizes the Galaxy Z Fold4 in terms of size. Therefore, it is all the more impressive that the Xiaomi phone is 1 gramme lighter and overall thinner than the Samsung foldable.
Samsung offers a few benefits of its own. The Galaxy Z Fold4 offers much more sophisticated multitasking than the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 since it is simpler to open an app in split screen mode and allows you to run multiple instances of your browsing app. That's in part because the Galaxy uses Android 12L, which is designed for folding phones, while the Xiaomi continues to use Android 12 as-is.
The Galaxy also supports the S Pen and has an IPX8 water resistance certification. The Mix Fold 2 will only be available in China, although the Galaxy Z Fold4 can be pre-ordered globally.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 maintains its excellent specs even without screens. Thanks to the most recent Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with 12GB of RAM, performance is adequate. There is a 50MP 1/1.56" optically-steady Sony IMX766 primary camera with the Leica brand. A 13MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP telephoto module with a 2x optical zoom are also housed on the rear.
Additionally, the 4,500mAh battery in the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 boasts outstanding 67W charging.
